New Orleans artist returns with a 7-track album rooted in his personal journey from rebellion to redemption

Reading Time: 2 minutes New Orleans, LA – March 29, 2025 —

Zamar Yashar’el has returned with a powerful new album, T.R.A.P (Truth, Rhymes, And Pain), released on March 28, 2025. Known for his raw honesty and Ruach-filled sound, the New Orleans-based artist debuted the album during a virtual listening party hosted by Lorvins on YouTube.

The 7-track album clocks in at 21 minutes and includes features from artists across the awakening music community. Each collaboration brings a distinct layer to the project’s emotional and spiritual depth:

  1. Street Brew

  2. No Cap (feat. Barack)

  3. Looking at the Wicked

  4. Stop Talking (feat. J. Lutch)

  5. Jacob’s Song (feat. Asaph Yashar’el & LeYah)

  6. Trap House (feat. Travis Snipes)

  7. Work (feat. Yapah Q)

During the livestream, Zamar reflected on his past and the deeply personal themes that run through the album.

“I came through the way of the streets as well and there’s some stuff I’m not proud of, and as a matter of fact, I testify about some of those things on the album.”

T.R.A.P continues Zamar’s pattern of using music as ministry, following his previous releases The Awakening (2023) and Alkebulan (2024). His goal remains clear: to speak directly to those navigating trials, repentance, and the Set-Apart walk. The album title stands for “Truth, Rhymes, And Pain,” a reflection of both his lyrical style and personal testimony.

Track 3, “Looking at the Wicked” is currently part of the Top 10 chart on All Praises Radio, a 24 hour station dedicated to Set-Apart music and scripture meditations.  It’s full of admonishment, poetry, personal testimony, scripture and smooth ballads sung to Abba. One lyric says, “Forgive me, I was trippin’. I foot was slippin’, acting like I didn’t know. I was looking at the wicked.”

You can also look forward to an exclusive interview with Zamar Yashar’el, produced by Yahudah Living and conducted by Sister Marsha. The conversation will premiere on the Yahudah Living YouTube channel, and will also be featured on The Praise Connect, Marsha’s weekly radio show on All Praises Radio. The interview is scheduled to air after Pesach in early May.

T.R.A.P is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Spotify.  His song, “
