Set Apart artist debuts his sequel to his debut album with music that connects listeners to their Creator
USA, Sept. 8, 2024 — Sta’phan The Preacher has just released Rooted In Praise 2: Seed of the Baruk, the follow-up to his debut album, Rooted in Praise. To celebrate the release, Sta’phan hosted a listening party on September 5th. Friends and supporters gathered to honor both his birthday (praise Yah for life and another year of it!) and the completion of the album (all praises to the Most High for allowing him to create another album for His glory and His people).
This album is filled with themes of praise, prophecy, and perseverance, highlighting Sta’phan’s spiritual journey and his continued deliverance in Yahusha. His new music is now playing on All Praises Radio, which is part of Yahudah Living. One track, “Wherever You Go (Submission),” has already shot up to the #1 spot on JD’s Prime Time Countdown.
Rooted In Praise 2: Seed of the Baruk
The Hebrew word “Baruk” means “blessed,” signifying the deep spiritual favor that comes from Yahuah. The title, Seed of the Baruk, refers to the offspring or product of those blessings, representing those who are rooted in Yahuah’s favor and have been nurtured to grow spiritually.
After two years of dedication, Rooted In Praise 2 stands as a powerful statement of Sta’phan’s faith in Yahusha (the Messiah) and Yahuah (our Heavenly Father). Though most of the album was recorded in 2022, the tracks went through extensive refinement before their final release. Sta’phan shares his personal struggles throughout the album, but the message is ultimately for the people.
Sta’phan explained his commitment to this project, saying:
“This album is a continuation of Rooted In Praise. It was recorded around the same time, but I spent more time refining it. Now that Yahusha has made clear the message and the praise He wanted me to deliver, I’m ready to share it beyond the music.”
Here’s a look at the tracklist:
- Go to Aluah – 2:45
- Seed of the Baruk – 2:58
- Ruach of Prophecy – 2:59
- Let the Blind See – 2:34
- Qodesh 3x (feat. BritYah) – 3:19
- Rise Up, in the Name of Yah – 2:54
- Changes – 2:59
- Wherever You Go (Submission) – 2:31
- Believe in the Son (feat. BritYah) – 3:16
Sta’phan describes the album as a public declaration of his faith, stating:
“It’s not about me. It’s for the people, and it’s all about Yahusha. Praise the Most High Yah!”
A Unique Sound Rooted in Afrobeat
Sta’phan’s musical style is fresh and innovative, combining traditional praise with Afrobeat rhythms, which is rare in faith-based music. In an interview with Yahudah Living last year, Sta’phan opened up about his creative process and influences. Back then, he had only released Rooted in Praise, but since then, his sound has continued to evolve.
“I’ve got my own style… Afrobeat is my foundation, and you don’t really hear that much in this walk,” Sta’phan explained.
With Afrobeat as his musical backbone, Sta’phan finds the freedom to fully express his worship through singing and rapping.
“Afrobeat helps me express everything Yah’s put inside of me, and I’m able to share that in a unique way.”
His music reflects his heart, with each track offering comfort and encouragement. Sta’phan’s commitment to excellence shines through in the attention to detail in every song. His lyrics resonate deeply with those seeking to grow closer to the Most High.
In last year’s interview, he spoke about the importance of sharing Yahusha’s story through his creative gifts:
“I want to tell Yahusha’s story… and that story also happens to be my own.”
The Good Shepherd Protects His Sheep
Earlier this year, Sta’phan revealed how he was delivered from a cult faction that falsely claimed to be part of the Set-Apart community. Despite the group’s attempts to curse him, Sta’phan emerged stronger, giving credit to Yahusha for shielding him. This experience of deliverance is a key theme in Rooted In Praise 2, deepening its spiritual significance. Sta’phan’s music continues to resonate with his supporters, especially as he weaves his spiritual battles into creative expression.
Exciting News on the Horizon
In addition to his own release, Sta’phan shared the exciting news that his wife BritYah’s upcoming album, Found, is currently in the final mixing stages. Supporters can’t wait to hear her latest work, especially since she lent her vocals to Rooted In Praise 2.
Sta’phan also announced that he has rebranded his platform from “Fit for Yah” to “Free Indeed Music,” a change that symbolizes his spiritual growth and freedom. This new direction reinforces his mission to spread Yah’s word through music.
Yahudah Living interviewed Sta’phan last year to talk about his early musical journey and Rooted in Praise. We’re excited to release that interview later this month, along with a follow-up discussion on his latest project and its message.
In a time when so many people are searching for uplifting, Yah-centered music, we are grateful for artists like Sta’phan who bring us fresh music to honor Yahuah—music that lifts our spirits and draws us closer to Him.
